The Importants And Types Of Camera Terms

Camera Terms, one of the most important part of taking a photo or shooting a video in a location surrounding nature or in a the busy city. Without terms, our photo taken will be pretty much the same results and it will get boring. As you red through this part of the blog, you 'might' find some of terms be useful for your photo taking skills.

1. Fast lens- Refers to a lens that has a very wide aperture ... ie f/1.8 or f/2.8
2. Aperture - Lens opening. The opening in a camera lens through which light passes to expose the film or sensor. The size of aperture is either fixed or adjustable. Aperture size is usually calibrated in f-numbers-the larger the number, the smaller the lens opening.[the f/ number thing, controls exposure and depth of field, also know as the blade things inside the lens]
3. Exposure Compensation- a technique for adjusting the exposure indicated by a photographic exposure meter, in consideration of factors that may cause the indicated exposure to result in a less-than-optimal image.[adjusting the brightness of an image with one move]
4. Fill flash- A technique used to to brighten shadow areas by using a flash.
5. ISO Speed- The emulsion speed (sensitivity) of the film as determined by the standards of the International Standards Organization. In these standards, both arithmetic (ASA) and logarithmic (DIN) speed values are expressed in a single ISO term. For example, a film with a speed of ISO 100/21° would have a speed of ASA 100 or 21 DIN.[sensitivity of sensor/film. Higher ISO Brighter exposure and more noise/grain]
6. White Balance- Color Temperature of the image. Setting depend on the lighting available.
   
7. Sync speed- Usually referred to as the maximum shutter speed usable for flash photography.
8. Flare- Internal reflection or scrattering of light from the lens elements. Usually manifesting itself as a bright image region, and/or a reduction in contrast and saturation. Lens hoods are used to shade the lens.
9. Histogram- A graph Showing you if the image is under/over exposed.
10. Metering- Measurement of light on the subject using desired setting in camera or an external light meter. Helps determine exposure.
